Beacon College Acquires Main Street Receptions in Leesburg

Leesburg, FL - Don Magruder, CEO of Ro-Mac Lumber & Supply, Inc. of Leesburg has announced a long-term lease agreement between Beacon College and Ro-Mac Canal Street Holdings, LLC (a subsidiary of Ro-Mac Lumber) for use of Main Street Receptions in downtown Leesburg. The lease will commence on August 1, 2012, with the Beacon College take-over of the property, and Ro-Mac Lumber will no longer be operating a public reception hall as of August 1, 2012.

Main Street Receptions will honor all events booked through August 1, 2012. Beacon College officials will discuss the possibility of honoring pre-scheduled Main Street Reception events after that point. Main Street Receptions will refund promptly any and all deposits for events scheduled after August 1, 2012.

Magruder said of the lease deal, “We regret the inconvenience the closure of Main Street Receptions will have on some of our patrons who have booked events after the August 1st date, but in the current economic environment the company had no choice but to exit this business.” Magruder added, “The building will enhance the partnership between Beacon College and the City of Leesburg, while providing a super location for expanded student activities.”

Dr. John Hutchinson, President of Beacon College, confirmed that the Main Street Receptions building will be used as a student center and the hub of the student services activities on campus. “We are in an expansionary phase of the College in terms of enrollment and programming. This facility will provide excellent space to help accommodate our growth. When possible, we will work with community groups to make the building available for future events.”

Ro-Mac Lumber & Supply, Inc. is one of Florida’s largest independent dealers in building materials, and it has been serving contractors and homeowners in Central Florida since 1945. Ro-Mac Lumber is based in Leesburg, Florida, and has operated Main Street Receptions for the last four years.
